Here’s the deal…I designed my own invites based off of inspiration from another bee (I’ll show once completed; currently at the printer!). My design doesn’t have a map, although I could add another card with one I guess (but ideally don’t want to). Is that a bad idea to not include a map? The reception site may be a bit tricky to get to, as it’s in the heart of the city where there are one-way streets and some traffic.
I have a map on our wedding website, and even set it up so you can enlarge a map with the venue already input, and/or get directions right to the reception site just by adding your own address. The website will be listed on the invitations. Also will be including a map in the programs, but still worried about those out of towners who might not attend the ceremony.
Thoughts? Did you all include maps with your direction cards? Thanks!!

I never use the maps provided. I google it and then use my navigation system so I would say you don’t need it but that me.

I don’t plan on including a map and never expect one as a guest. If GPS and Yahoo Maps! don’t help someone, they can always call you or the venue. That’s my theory, anyway.

If it’s in Downtown madison… It would be a very good idea! It is far too easy to get lost!
(I want to bring back to live, then hang whoever designed those streets!)

I don’t think a map is necessary but you could provide one in case of some who don’t have computers of GPS in their cars….
Here is a cute DIY wedding map – http://www.weddingbee.com/2009/01/02/diy-wedding-map/

Since your venue is in a busy/tricky location, it would probably be a good idea (although not necessary). I was in a similar situation to you and decided to include a map – I put it on a piece of translucent paper, which looked really pretty with the invite and made the map seem less impossing and the invite less cluttered somehow.

If its on the wedding website, I think you’re fine… Plus so many people just google/use GPSs … I think you’re fine!

I’d say you don’t need to print a map and directions if its just a normal Googlemap search. However, I know some places (my venue for example ) are in more hidden locations and give you different directions to follow because Googlemap ones don’t work – then I’d include them.
