- Wedding: February 2012
Invitations- when I think of weddings, it honestly was one of the parts that I thought would be a easy DIY project. I was thinking about doing my own to save money, but because my brother is a Graphic Designer I utilized his abilities instead, he’s a recent graduate and has had some experience but not a bunch so I put him to the test, well more like he put me through a test.
He asked me questions at the beginning of the wedding process like: “what’s your theme? Or Wedding feeling you are going for?” At that time I’ve looked at wedding magazines and all I could come up with were my colors pink and navy and that’s the only thing I could give him. He asked more questions like “how did you me and my Fiance meet, and what are things that attracted us together, basically what makes us as a couple tick”. I had no clue so he sent me a bunch of links to look at as far as wedding invites that weren’t the generic buy it at Michael’s and put your info here.
Finally, a theme was starting to develop as a result of our numerous conversations related to a theme and feeling of the wedding- Whimsical, fun, and something that showed our passion for Japanese anime which we bonded over Naruto Shippuden, during our first conversations, between my Fiance and I. On the invites our Logo ended up being 2 teacups meshed together, one english style, the other chinese style tea cup.
Below you’ll see pics of the map folded up, and open, as well as our invites, and the back has a custom picture my brother did of us, and our RSVP’s. Everything was letterpress on heavy weight paper of 300. Only the map wasn’t letterpress because it had to get folded being an 8×11″ paper.
