FIs aunt told him how she couldn’t believe how nice my calligraphy was on the envelopes (hellooooo Chopin Script font and a kickass printer at work)…
Coworkers this morning said they were awesome and were certain I’d hear no complaints from my mom.
Then I get emails from my mom this morning – it’s ‘Pretty I guess. but REALLY hard to read. The paper’s kind of ugly and it’s no better than your last one. You should have had them printed in black.’
The ‘last one’ referring to our save the dates that she hated.
C’est la vie.
You can’t please everyone… and you can almost never please my mom.
I can’t wait for responses to start coming in!!!!

Ew please write back to your mom “This was a rude respnse. In the future, I’d appreciate it if you kept all negative commentary to yourself – it’s unecessary and hurtful.”

Can you post pics so that we may all partake of the papery goodness?

Trust me, your mom probably loves them. My mom has said the same thing the whole way though. When I showed her the final print up of our invites she went “Oh, pretty…”

Your mom is just jealous of your bad assness.

You ladies make me laugh! Thanks 🙂
When I was at my mom’s the other day after my dress fitting, she picked up a HUGE magnifying glass she uses sometimes, then my invite… looking through the glass and movingthe invite close and far and back a bunch she asked ‘so the wedding’s at 4 huh?’
Just have to laugh 😉

Oy!! Someone needs to reintroduce your mother to the “if you don’t have anything nice to say” rule.
I sent mine out on Friday too! I’ve gotten 4 rsvp cards back so far.

Yup – she’s a peach 🙂
We’ve gotten 13 back so far! Yay!
Though I would *love* some more no’s to hit the PO Box 😉

How many people did you invite, and how many are you hoping for?
We invited 78, hoping to get between 60 and 65. So far we’re on track, with the all but 1 of the “no” responses being people I assumed wouldn’t be able to make it anyway. But we’ve still got a lot more people to hear from.

We got a handful more back yesterday- so we’ve got 33 yes and 5 no. We sent 77 invites for 199 people (holy kids, Batman!).
I would LOVE to end up somewhere around 125, but who knows. So far the only No cards were a friend I worked with that I knew was moving that weekend, and my best friend and his family since he’ll be out on tour… so no one I didnt expect.
I was hoping to make it to the Post Office again today but there’s a good inch plus of snow and ice and it’s freezing rain right now, so I think I’ll stay right here on the couch 🙂
I did get some more invite feedback – that the colors were awesome and they loved the texture, and about my ‘calligraphy’ skills. 😉
