Hi bees! I know it’s none of my business, but the invites haven’t been sent yet for my bridal shower on June 4! Isn’t that cutting it like really close?!
I’m worried that no one will be able to come because of too short notice! I’m not looking for gifts, but just a fun party with my friends!
Am I wrong in thinking it’s tooooo close now?

My shower is June 26th and the invites are going out May 23rd (just for comparison)
This would be the reason why I ordered my own invites and am doing the labels, etc with the Maid/Matron of Honor. I think whoever is throwing your party is cutting it close but I have relatives from out of town so I guess it depends on whom is invited?

I wouldn’t worry about it, people may already know by word of mouth. I think 2 weeks is really all thats needed for a shower anyways

It is cutting it close, so do you know what happened? If everyone is local, maybe the hosts feel it’s no big deal? With people usually so busy on the weekends, I’m surprised they haven’t been sent. I hope it ends up not mattering!

You still have 3 weeks. I think it will be alright. Are people traveling? You usually need to get invites out much sooner for a wedding, but not for a shower IMO.

I just sent out shower invites for a friend’s shower on June 11, and I was worried it was getting late. Maybe they forgot to send you one? Could you ask the hostess if/when you should be expecting your invite?

It depends on how large the shower is and how far people will be traveling. For me, it’s cutting it pretty close…especially with summer vacations coming up. Try not to worry about it too much, but if you can, find out what the hold up is and ask if you can help with anything!

@ItWasntMe:I have no idea what happened! I talked to FI’s aunt on Easter (it’s his 2 aunts, and my Maid/Matron of Honor throwing it) and she said they were hoping to get the invites out the first week of May. They’ve got all the addresses already, so it couldn’t be that.
@mspony: I was wondering that too, if maybe they have someone coming to get me that day, and didn’t send me an invite (i’d be bummed, because I really want to see what it looks like!) but I know they haven’t gone out yet because my mother hasn’t gotten one! (or so I’ve been told,
@2PeasinaPod: Yeah, I’m kinda worried, but I’m trying to calm myself, haha. The only people that aren’t local are the ones that are in charge of mailing the invites!
I might ask my Maid/Matron of Honor to see what’s up (trying not to have aunts feel like I’m over-imposing!), though she may not know either, she’s only in charge of games, haha.

Well, apparently invites ARE out, and my mom has gotten one, but she won’t let me see it!
Is it weird for the bride not to get an invite? It’s not a surprise or anything, since I gave addresses and input on the date!
