Just heard about this idea of sending invitations to celebrities/politicians/etc. and I might consider it! I am curious who you’re sending them to & if you already have, did they reply back? I heard some send a nice congratulatory letter ๐

Some bees have sent their invitations to the Obamas, Minnie and Mickey Mouse at Disney World, and other people like that. Many of them did receive a response letter or something nice, but it seemed to take awhile so send early!

Fiance really wants to invite Aaron Rodger from the GB Packers to our wedding along with some coaches from the University of Michigan. We haven’t sent an invitation yet but there’s a good chance we will.
Also, one of my friends said she is thinking about inviting Charlie Sheen to hers but he actually may come knowing him so that may be a train wreck!

i so wish i would have done this – not like anyone would really come but just to see the responses.

lol, Fiance wanted to send to Bono and the Edge. In the end I didn’t think it was worth the wasted materials and postage.
Living where we do there are a couple people in the business that we’re inviting but nobody really “famous”. I think it’s a fun idea though if you have extras of everything. It’s nice that some of them actually have form letters and such for responses to wedding invites ๐

Oh how fun!! I’ve never even considered this but I’m a big Disney-person and will definitely be inviting Mickey/Minnie in hopes of getting some kind of letter response, hahaha

I’m thinking of tracking down a fan mail address for J.K. Rowling and see if she sends me back a Harry Potter themed letter or something. ๐ Also Mickey/Minnie (Disneyland) and Cinderella/Charming (Disney World).

We totally plan to send an invite to the White House. While Barack and I are close (clearly kidding), I doubt he’ll make an appearance at our wedding. Frankly, I just think it would be cool to get a congratulatory letter from the prez.
We don’t know any real celebrities but our venues head chef was on Hells Kitchen last season, so she’s somewhat of a local celeb.

OMG I’ve never heard of this!!
I know it’s common in the Middle East to find regional celebrities and famous people at big weddings, mostly because they get invited or “hired?” to come and sing or introduce the couple..etc.

I’m waiting to see if I have spare invites but I’m totally inviting Mickey/Minnie. Does anyone have the addresses you are supposed to use?

If there were someone else in the white house, I’d send one! But sadly, I don’t agree with this administration!
(Sorry for mini rant!) I think we ARE going to send them to Mickey and Minnie!
