- Wedding: March 2012
I am having an out of town wedding. It’s about 10 hours away from where I live now. All of my guests will be traveling to the wedding and paying for themselves.
Since the wedding will be on Saturday, I want to have a dinner Friday night and invite the guests to come if they’d like, but how do I word it so that they know they will have to pay for their own dinner? I don’t know how to put it into words without it being rude.
My main reason for having the dinner is to have a way to say hey before the wedding, so that’s not the first time we see everyone. This isn’t going to be a rehearsal dinner though. We aren’t having a rehearsal because it costs extra, and we really don’t need one.
We will be having a reception after the wedding, and we are paying for all of their food then.
Any ideas on how I can put the Friday night dinner invitation into words, so it doesn’t sound rude that we can’t pay for their dinner? Or should I not do a dinner at all the night before?
