So I’ve been making the shower guest list, as my bridal party has asked for it.
I’m wondering, is it okay to invite people you know can’t come? Ex: grandma that can’t travel, aunt that lives very far away?
Does it look gift grabby?
I don’t expect a gift from them, I just thought they might feel left out if I didn’t put the on the guest list?

You know them best. I agree that some of our friends and family would be hurt if they weren’t invited.

Personally, I would like to be invited even if I knew I couldn’t come to a friend/families shower. It lets them know they’re still important. I didn’t get gifts from those who couldn’t attend my shower…And I wasn’t expecting them from those people either…is it normal for people to send a gift to a shower if they can’t make it? Idk!
PS I live in Calgary too!

I don’t think its gift grabby if you’re inviting family members who would normally be there, but if you invite other people/friends that you know can’t attend, that’s pushing it a bit.
Yes…if I can’t attend a shower I still send a gift.

I’m the type of person (as PP said) that wants an invite even if someone knows I can’t make it. So I would definitely invite them and include a personal note from you/your Bridesmaid or Best Man 🙂

@Ryansgirl: Hey Calgary friend! 🙂
I like the idea of including the personal note. Thats a good touch.
