Two of my good friends play in a rock group and will be playing a short set at my wedding (first dance + a few songs to get the crowd going). Two of the four band members are invited to the wedding. Should I invite the two others, plus their spouses? I know it’s only four more people, but I am trying to keep the extra guests at a minimum. Plus, I have never met these two other band members, though I’m sure they are lovely people. Thoughts?

Normally, it is customary for the vendors – DJs, Photographers, etc. – to get a plate at the reception. Would there be any other costs other than a plate at the recepion?

Is the whole band performing at your reception or just the two you are friends with? If it’s just the two I don’t see a reason you need to invite the others. If it’s the whole band playing, then you should provide food for them anyway, like vendor meals for any other vendor, except since they are friends with your friends it would be a nice gesture to seat them at the reception as any ordinary guests. And if you do that, I’d invite their spouses. Hope that makes sense.
