(Closed) Inviting the officiant…

I am torn about the whole thing… I am inviting my officiant to the rehearsal dinner but I feel like the wedding reception should only be for close friends and family.  Since the guest list is so tight already (i had to cut out some good friends) that we are not inviting our officiant to the reception.  I feel a little bit rude about it, but I think that since we don’t have a relationship with her, that she will understand.

To those of you who have invited the officiant to your reception…how did you extend the invitation to them?  Mail the same invite you sent to the rest of the guests?  Verbally invite them?  Thanks for your input!
