So in anticipation of my wedding, I started Invisalign yesterday. And I’m wondering what I got myself into. I really just wanted one tooth fixed, and somehow I’m into this for the next 24 months :(. I have no idea how I’ll find the motivation to keep doing this after my wedding in less than 10 months.
Anyone else wearing invisalign or braces want to commisserate?

I wear braces….. and I cannot wait to get these damn things off!!!! Thankfully I only have to wait until December/January until they come off but then after that I have to wear a retainer, ewwww…. I just have to keep remembering, I will have my gorgeous smile for my wedding!

I have invisalign and I love it! The first few trays are rough getting adjusted to it, but after that I hardly noticed them! Actually I feel like I’ll miss them when my time is up. My teeth have been moving very fast with invisalign, so sometimes this causes soreness in certain teeth. I just make sure to keep Aleve in my purse for those days!
Just remember to keep wearing them! You don’t want to waste all that money!

I know its bad the first few days but you’ll see changes fast. DH’s teeth were really messed up, but within the first 3 months they were pretty much straight. Unlike when I had braces, I had to wait 3 years for my teeth to straighten up.

How much did you ladies pay for invaslign? Did you do it in one payment or did you do a downpayment and then monthly payments?
I went to a consultation and they said mine would be around 5k, and that I’d have to put a good bit down. Just curious what everyone else is doing. I’m hoping to get them in the spring..I don’t have the money for it right now :/

I had regular braces for over 4 years and hated it! But I love my smile 🙂
One of my good friends did Invisalign in college and now she’s engaged so it turned out well that she’ll have perfect teeth for her wedding. It’s worth it for a lifetime of smile confidence!

I wore invisalign for about a year and a half. It was totally worth it!! Stick with it. It gets less annoying. And my results were fabulous!

I had invisalign, only for 5 months though. I know how you feel, it was really hard at first- very uncomfortable and I felt like everyone could tell. I was so self conscience about it, I didn’t even tell people unless they asked. But, it wasn’t as bad as I thought, turns out a lot of people didn’t even know I had them. Stay with it, you will most definitely be happy when the results when it is all over. Two years isn’t so bad when you will have beautiful teeth for the rest of your life 🙂 Good Luck!

@AnneTossy: I paid $3000.00 and I paid for it all at once to receive a discount. So it really ended up being $2800.00. The place I went had no-interest payment plans, but I preferred to just get it over with.

Thanks everyone, I need some reminders that this gets better.
For people curious about cost, I think mine were $4k. My insurance paid $1500, and I had to put $1200 down and then pay around $150/month after.
