Okay, so my Fiance and I finally decided on doing an outdoor wedding. Our biggest problem is we don’t know what month to have it in! We live in Northeastern Iowa ( around the Cedar Rapids area). Our wedding is going to be at a campsite where there is a small sandbar where we will have the ceremony and then a short short walk to the camping area where the reception will be held and people can bring tents and stay the night. So my question is: What month should we have it so it won’t be too hot or cold or anything??

I’m also Northeastern Iowa (Dubuque area), and we live in Central Iowa and getting married at Jester Park near Des Moines. We are going with May 16th, 2015, hoping that it is warm and sunny but not muggy and/or raining. It is currently one year from now so I keep judging every days weather and hoping for a day like it or not like it.

bmreiff: The weather is so unpredictable(especially this year!), it makes it hard to stay with one day!

Weather is just crazy in Iowa. I was in two weddings on back to back weekends in 2012. The first one was a sunny, 65-70 degree day. The second one it didn’t get warmer than 50 and rained the entire day.
If you want the best bet at nicer weather, I think mid-September or late May are the best bets. Not going to predict the future, but those are the best dates I have seen.
