Darling Husband has one and we both love it!  He got a bluetooth keyboard, which is helpful for typing longer things out.  The touch screen one isn’t all that awesome for typing longer things.  It takes some getting used to with the touch screen and things working a bit differently than a normal computer, but we love it.

We really like a lot of the games you can get.  He has the Sims Freeplay, which I play more than he does!  It’s really fun!  There is also Monopoly for the iPad which is really cool.  You can set house rules and play either with another person or the computer.  I think both of those are free.  He has a lot of other ones, but those are the two I play the most.  There are lots to choose from!

I’ve become obsessed with, Cut the Rope, Beyond YNTH and Tiny Wings. I love functional apps like Penultimate and use it for notekeeping. There’s also a really cool one for Boggle, Words with Friends and Angry Birds is a must. Also, the Lorax game that they created for the movie is pretty addicting and is my tension releaser.

I don’t have any game apps and tend toward the practical side of things… my most used apps are the NPR app, mint.com, dropbox, and a white noise generator called WhiteNoisePro. I probably use the last one the most – it’s my alarm clock and I use it to focus at work.

Let’s see…

  • Facebook for iPad
  • Verbs- It’s an IM client
  • 1password- VERY handy if you have different/complex passwords for various accounts. You set up one general password and that gives you access to all of your other passwords. It also generates random passwords for you so that your accounts are hack proof. My FB password is like 30 characters long full of random crap. Noones ever getting into that.
  • IWork suite- If you’re familiar with a Mac, iWork consists of Pages, Numbers, iMovie, GarageBand and iPhoto (there are others but those are the apps I have on my iPad).
  • HBO Go- This will only work if you have HBO but the app is awesome. You can watch all of your HBO shows from anywhere.
  • Spotify- It’s a monthly paid music service but it allows you access to pretty much every song in existence. You don’t “own” the songs but you can save them to playlists and what not so that you can listen to them whenever you like. Grooveshark is a similar app but I’m not sure if that’s available in the app store anymore.
  • Trulia- If you’re in the market to buy a house at some point, the Trulia app is awesome. I have other real estate apps but they don’t compare to Trulias.
  • TiVo- Again, this only works if you have the service but it’s very handy. You can program your shows from the app instead of having to do it on the TV which is a pain typing with a remote.

Those are the ones I use the most but I have a ton of other apps. Most haven’t been touched since the first time I downloaded them.

Congrats on your iPad! It’s totally addicting!

Get Chicktionary!  I think the first DL is free and you can get more games as you go.  It gives you 7 letters and you have to make words, and it’s timed….I love it.  Way more fun than it sounds, I swear.  There are chickens that cluck.  πŸ˜›
