I will be going back to school in September, and I am thinking about using e-textbooks downloaded onto a tablet for a convenience factor. Has anyone used an IPad or any other tablet for this sort of thing? I am trying to see if the price would be worth it.
Thank you in advance for any input.

I would double check compatibility, especially with any multimedia functionality with the textbooks you know you will need before committing to a specific platform.

I’ve never used them for a text book but I have an Ipad and a Kindle.
How much are the books to download? Are you ok with the fact that you can’t mark up the book? I love my Ipad but I don’t think I’d want to use it for school…

Thank you for your responses!
My textbooks I need this semester are available on coursesmart.com. They would cost ~$35 to rent them for 180 days. You are able to highlight text and write notes on it.

One thing about ipad is that it has backlighting, so like a computer reading on it hurts your eyes. If you are thinking of using it for textbooks and plan on doing lots of reading I would look into other ereader options.

What @PuntaCanaBride said. I have a Nook (not the color, the e-ink kind) and it is WAY better than reading on an LCD screen.
