I’ve decided that I want a tablet to bring places with me, but I can’t decide which one! The only two I’ve looked at are the iPad and the Samsung Galaxy, but I know there are a ton more. I’m slightly leaning towards the brand-new iPad.
Does anyone have any recommendations?

I really want the Google Nexus 7 but I am also the type of shopper that wants to see what I am buying before I buy it and haven’t seen a Google Nexus yet. But there are rumors of a mini Ipad coming soon which might be what I get instead of I can’t see a Nexus before the release.

I highly suggest going to the biggest electronics store in the area and play with them all. I really want the Galaxy one after I went and played with around 20 of them. It just worked the way I wanted to use it, I also like the fact that I can expand the memory and save things to a memory card easily.
Most of the top Pads are around the same price, so checking them out yourself at the store is really the only way to really know which one is best for you.

I have a Kindle Fire and I LOVE it. It’s small enough to fit in my purse, which was the only reason I hated the Ipad (And I’m an Apple whore lol), it’s internet friendly, super easy to use, I love to read on it. I have nothing bad about my Kindle. It was my anniversary gift last year and I love it so much.

I have an ipad and I totally love it, but one of my friends just got the galaxy tablet, and I’m a little jealous. That said, i really can’t tell the difference between them because all i wanted a tablet for was to surf the internet and read my school documents, which i could do easily with either tablet. Hmm, not sure this was helpful at all! They’re both really cool, though! I think if you already have a samsung phone, it might be nice to get the tablet because you’d already be familiar with Android. If you have any apple products, then you’re already familar with iTunes. I have a samsung phone and I kinda wish I stuck with the galaxy stuff only because then i think i would have been able to sync my phone with my tablet. good luck!

IPad. I’ve tried just about all of the popular tablets that are out now and none of them compare to the iPad. It’s a great device.

I have an iPad and love it! I haven’t played around with any other tablets, though, so I can’t really give you an objective pros/cons list or anything.

I have an iPad 2. It has become an essential tool for me now for work and play (and for school before I finished my PhD). My dad is one of those anti-Apple even though he’s never had one other than the stripped down 7 year old laptop at his school (he teaches) which has very limited functionability because of what the county IT allows to be on the computer and how old it is. He got himself a Galaxy Tab and he claims to like it, but the tone in his voice when he talks about it is not the tone he has when he is actually excited about and in love with a piece of technology. I haven’t used it myself though, so that’s the most info I can give.

I’m on my Samsung Tablet right now. I absolutely love it, there are only a few things that I prefer on my teeny-tiny, ancient Sony laptop running Ubuntu.
I don’t have anything Apple, so it didn’t seem logical for me to get an iPad – and I feel I made the right choice: working with my Samsung vs. some of my classmates and their iPads this past semester, I found the Android a more vesatile and interesting tool, with a bigger variety of apps (it’s the small, stupid tweak-things-to-my-liking apps that are the most important to me for functionality).

Everyone can say what they want about apple products, that they’re hipster, expensive, yadda yadda. But I swear by them! They work so well, last so long, never slow down, are easy to use and navigate, super long battery life, amazing apps, everything! They really are bulletproof. I have like an ipod FIRST gen that still works like a champ. The battery doesn’t last long anymore, but that’s the battery, whcih can be replaced. I have an iPad 2 and it’s incredible.
My boyfriend and his Dad used to swear by Android and always made funof me for having a macbook, but then one of them got an iphone as a gift, and he fell in love with it, and now he swore he would NEVER go back to having a phone that wasn’t an iphone, and he builds, sells, and fixed computers for a living. And my boyfriend learned ot love apple products too, and he’s a computer whiz, goin to university to build and manage computers in offices.

Darling Husband is really excited about the Slate tablet coming out. I’m an Apple-person, and I have nothing but good things to say about my iPad! (Except for the fact that Flash doesn’t work!)
