I’m sorry! That’s happened to me too. It sucks that with insurance the price is still ridiculous.

If you put the phone in a bowl of rice, it will help dry it out:)

I hate that cell phones cost so much when you pay for them outright, but they always run deals on them! So dumb.

Yeah, I put mine in a bag of rice and it totally fixed the problem! You need to wait a day or two for it in there before you turn it back on, though.

Yes rice I have heard… I put mine in a ziploc bag and placed it into the fridge over night, sucked the moisture out and it was functional again a few days later.

Yes, PPs are right, you want to leave it off and thoroughly dry it first.  While we were dating, FH accidentally ran his iphone through the washing machine.  He was told they ususally survive water, but not the washing machine.  He had  to get a new one, so he ordered it off ebay.

At least you have AppleCare! The only reason iPhones are so “cheap” to begin with is that AT&T pays about $500 to Apple per phone. So they have to recoup the cost through your monthly phone plan. Sounds like you were smart and got the insurance, so that’s actually great! Otherwise it’d be $600-800 to get a brand new one (unless you went used or refurbished)

Oh, that sucks.  I had a razor take a swan dive from my shoulder into a coffee cup.  Not as expensive but such a hassle.
