Fi & I have a meeting tomorrow with a dj for our brunch wedding. It would be $950 for a minimum 6-hour reception. Problem is that we’ll only have the hall for four hours tops., which includes cocktails snd lunch. I’m having a hard time justifying almost 1000 bucks for two hours of dancing st most. But I haven’t hesrd grest things about ipods. any thoughts from the hive?

You’d think the DJ would be willing to give you a better deal, since they could book another wedding that day. I’d contact a few more DJs to try and get a better price.
Do you want dancing? If you could take it or leave it, I think an ipod might make more sense.

I’ve contacted a few other djs but they’re booked – though I can keep looking. It’s an 11am ceremony, and originally I booked a pianist who plays all kinds of music, but he’s been 100% unresponsive and I have a bad feeling about him, so this is definitely late in the game for a September Saturday wedding. I’d like some dancing, but basically it’d be $400 per hour for the dancing, since we could definitely do background music for food by ourselves. Our best man is a theater guy, so we could ask him to do the announcements. We’re doing an early reception because it’s cheaper, though we do have the money for the dj. dding a poll…
