I am having a relitavely small wedding, hoping for under 60 people. I don’t want to put out the extra cash for a dj and the place I am considering has a sound system we can use. how do you all feel about using an IPOD for music? I really just want to have our first dance and if people want to dance they can, if not I don’t mind either. Any suggestions on how to make this work smoothly? Also, if I do this has anyone rented a microphone or how does that work? Do you think we will even need a microphone?

we just used spotify…. which is kind of like pandora internet radio.. But on Spotify you can create a playlist…
It worked out great! We made a play list and then if guests wanted a specific song we could always play it as well!! We just hooked a home stereo to our netbook!

We are using an iPod hooked up to the sound system for our reception. We are not having dancing (if my Fiance can convince his Mother lol) so it will only be background music.
things to consider
Only have music you wanted played at the wedding on the iPod – wipe everything else.
Have a backup iPod or Laptop in case things go wrong with the original.
Try and get an equalizing program so all the songs play at the same volume
Assign a friend (not a groomsman or the groom) to be in charge of this in case something goes awry 🙂
