This thread brings up a fear of mine – I sometimes get paranoid that I don’t smell good. I don’t know why. I’ve never had anyone say I did, it’s just one of those things that I’m paranoid about. But if you did smell bad, how would you know? Your nose gets used to your own scent, right? So how would you know if you stink? Whenever someone walks into a room where there’s a weird smell, and they say, “Ugh, what’s that smell?”, my paranoia kicks in and I immediately think “Oh god, I hope it’s not me!”
Do you have any weird, irrational fears about your personal hygiene?

I always worry I smell, especially at work because I am stocking all day but I am also dealing and helping with customers. I do know though, when I smell BAD. I also don’t like my hair when it starts to get greasy. I know it is bad but I do shower and wash my hair every day because I just hate it when I see people with greasy hair out in public.

@sceeder: Yeah, greasy hair is pretty bad, too. Mine will look greasy if I don’t wash it every single day. So frustrating!
I thought of another one – stray eyebrow hairs. I pluck my eyebrows, and I am always like scouring for those strays, trying to get every single last one as if people can actually see them. Most are so fine, I’m betting no one would ever notice them unless they got right up in my face. And yet I spend forever trying to get them all.

I’m the same with my eye brows!! The worst is when my bf and I went backpacking for the first time. Week long trip, and I totally freaked out when I saw myself in the mirror in a gas station bathroom on the way back. It was awful! And smell wise, I’m not too worried about. I wear deodorant and have a body mist I use if I feel I need an extra something. Besides, I feel like since I’m the closest person to my own body that I should be able to smell myself first if it’s really awful, if that makes sense.
