If I had a gift card (to me like free money!) I’d have NO problem spending it. Buy yourself something you wouldn’t normally spend the money on…like a great purse or a piece of jewelry!

Do they have a neiman marcus outlet near you? They have great sales!

@CanAmBride: YES!!! I am the same way!

I got gift cards to JCrew for Christmas, and went in to try to spend them at least 4 times before I finally gave up, rented a car and drove to their outlet. I couldn’t bring myself to spend $100 on a white button down shirt – that’s insane to me!

Does NM have a sale section you could keep an eye on? On their website maybe?

I agree that outlets are the best, you can also stalk them online and then get great deals on sale. Or buy something pricey and sell it on ebay!

Spend it. Like smyley said, I would buy a great purse or shoes. I would have no issues spending free money on a high priced item.

There are also websites where you can sell gift cards that you know you will not use.

@CanAmBride:  I’m totally like that!  Heck, I’m like that at less expensive stores. lol  Last night I was in Bed Bath & Beyond with the Hubs and fell in love with a decorative pillow…like, I saw hearts and rainbows love, but I was not going to spend $20 on a decorative pillow.   Now I’m bound and determined to make it myself. lol

I have found awesome deals at Neiman’s online.  And you should sign up for their Mid-day Dash flash sale notices.
