I went off the pill after nine faithful years. It took me two or three months before I settled into my slightly irregular cycle of 28-31 days…so not too terrible. During that time I enlisted the help of a naturopath who put my on a cleanse designed to help ballance my hormones. I can’t attest to if it actually did anything, but it couldn’t have hurt.

It then took me seven months of TTC to get pregnant.

There’s nothing you can do, but wait for your body to regulate itself. Just because you have longer cycles doesn’t mean you are or aren’t ovulating – maybe try OPKS. Everyone is different. I went off in July, had a withdrawal bleed and 2 perfect 28 day cycles then got pregnant in September.

I went off the pill in feb 2014 with plans to ttc the following November. My cycles never became “regular”. My first cycle was over 100 days. Second was over 60. Third was over 50. I got down to around 40 and then got pregnant. Just because you do t have 28 day cycles, doesn’t mean you can’t get pregnant!

eta- I began charting to verify I was actually ovulating. That helped ease my mind a lot.

So are you useing sone other form of birth control until November? Because my sister went off the pill expecting to conceive within 6 months or so and basically got pregnant right away instead.

rnmrs :  I was also seeing a naturopath at that time and she explained it to me in a way that made sense…when on the pill, you’re basically cutting off communication between your hormones and your uterus. After being on the pill for years and then coming off, it can sometimes take a while for that communication to be reestablished!

I was on the pill for 11 years!  Came off in july 2014.  Took well over a year to begin to regulate.  Now my cycles are between 30 and 35 days long!!  I was a regular 28/29 day cycle before the pill!! We are about to start TTC.  I’m glad I stopped the pill well in advance of TTC to give my body time to regulate.

rnmrs :  Not sure I have any advice but I’m going through exactly the same thing as you right now!

I stopped my BC in August, then had one 51 day, one 45, one 61(!) and currently on CD 37.

Darling Husband and I started NTNP from mid-Feb and I’ve started temping and checking CM in the meantime. Waiting to see if/when this cycle ends so I can start using OPKs from next cycle and we can start TTC properly.

It’d be nice to know everything is working the way it should!

Aslong as you are ovulating I wouldn’t stress. I conceived when I was way past CD65!!!!
