You ALWAYS want to go with the bigger size. Even if the dress “has no waist,” there’s still a measurement for the waist–and if she’s bigger than a 14 in the waist, there is a chance that the dress will not zip up properly.

ETA: It’s better to order according to the largest measurement and have to pay for alterations than to cry because the size you thought was right is way too small–and have to buy a new dress.

@K_alecia: It’s not a big deal to have a dress taken down one (or even several) sizes–if you have a good tailor, it will look fine–promise!

Ugh, I wish I knew more about sizes. Especially the crazy bridal sizes! Apparently if you’re a size 4 you have to go up to a size 8 or something in “bridal wear”. This is just hypothetical, but my salon mentioned to me that the sizing was different. I really don’t want my girls to need alterations either. But I have a feeling my bridal store will do the same as yours.
