We are having a fairly small wedding – about 55 people invited to both ceremony and reception. The ceremony is at a small church about 20 mins from the reception venue.
The ceremony will start at 4pm for about 30 – 40 minutes.
I figure about 30 mins for receiving line and some pictures with family at the church.
about 20 mins for guests to drive to the reception hall with the cocktail hour starting at 5:30.
Do my time guestimates sound about right? I don’t want to have the guests waiting too long between ceremony and reception, but don’t want to rush them either.

I think that sounds perfect! Good job with timing. My friend once had her reception THREE HOURS after the ceremony!

We are doing the exactt same timeline, even the reception 20 mins away lol so sounds good to me! But we have 300 guests for the receiving line but are doing fam pics before so it should work.

@Rubbs: @MrsN14: Thank you both for the response. I was stressing about this all afternoon.

@katsmah: I think 30 minutes might be a little long for the receiving line, but other wise looks good

@W292737: Thanks. I figured I was better off going a little long on the receiving line time. No one in my family lives near me and by the time of the wedding it will have been anywhere from 6 – 12 months since we’ve seen each other. Time flies when you are having fun!
