to help with farther away perspective, this stone is 7mm, and is probably considered the diamond equivalent size of a 1.35 on a size 5.75 finger

seymourgm92 :  I have a 1.5ct moissy on a size 3.5 finger and it’s perfect! everyone who I work with and see it always ask me how much my fiancé had to save up for this “diamond” haha, but I always tell them it’s moissy because i’m very passionate about it! we definitely don’t have a lifestyle where we could readily afford a large diamond, but most people just assume he saved up for a long time! no one has questioned it and they’re always shocked when I tell them it’s not a diamond 🙂

I say go for the bigger one! It won’t look massive on your finger, and ring shrinkage is real so get the bigger one since you can afford it!

Most people won’t know the difference in real life. The people on the boards here are way more knowledgeable in general than the average person about diamonds, moissanite, gemstones in general etc. If you want the bigger stone, go for it! If it doesn’t bother you to tell people it’s a moissanite, get the stone you want. I will say, trying some on is a good idea though. After seeing all the gorgeous 7-8mm size moissanites on here, I told FH maybe larger than the initial 5mm we had planned, so he bought a 6mm and I feel like it’s HUGE lol (but I love it).
So try and find a ring to try on with a similar sized stone on it to make sure you like that!

My center lab diamond is 1.63 carats on a size 5.25 ish (ring is a 5.5). I think it’s perfect on my ha d and while I’m definitely a bigger is better type person, in reality, if it were bigger I’d be annoyed. It is fairly low profile and protected by the side stones and I still sometimes knock it on things. I tried on a few different sizes at a local shop to see what they looked like while I was “waiting”, so I included those too!

My beauty:

1.21 carat center

1.15 carat center

Here is a 2 carat equivalent (8mm) on a size 5.5.  It looks big to me and I think I couldn’t gotten the 7.5 mm (1.6) and it would’ve been perfect, but I am still happy with mine.  Some people have made comments about its size but most people don’t.

I am also a size 5.75 and I am also getting a 1.5ct!  And we actually have very very similar taste in design.  Can’t wait to get my ring!  I think 1.5ct is the sweet spot.  Not too big and not too small.  Good choice!

I’d suggest going to a jewelery store to try on the equivalent moissanite sizes! That way you’ll be sure!
