@Evie19:

Yes its enough time in my opinion but do more than push ups. Tricep exercises make a huge difference. Jillian Michaels videos like 30 Day Shred have some exercises that do wonders for arm toning.

I would workout with a tube instead of weights.  The tube is much more effective than weights if you have contant tension in that thing.

They are not used for cardio.  They are used for resistance training in place of weights.

15 weeks is plenty of time, but not with just pushups.  Get some weights and do some tricept extensions, bicept curls, shoulder presses.  All of these will get your arms looking great.  I love chair dips as well.

In reality, pushups do some for your arms but are really meant to strengthen your chest!  So get some 5-10lb weights and do some lifting.  12-15 reps 3-5x.

I used the P90X weight videos to help me.

@Evie19:

About 5x week is what Jillian recommends I think. I find that if I haven’t done the video in a while it’s nearly impossible for me to complete the full workout properly for more than 3 days in a row or so – basically my muscles tell me they need the recovery!

Your chest is the major muscle that push ups hit while your bis and tris do get some work it’s not enough. You need to do some weights and please don’t forget your shoulders!! They round out your arms! 15 weeks is plenty of time if you keep at it and don’t be afraid of weights as a lot of girls are. Lifting does not make you look like a gladiator trust me.

I would rotate through Jillian’s 30 Day Shred and No More Trouble Zones.  I personally find NMTZ more challenging, but it works well.  30 Day Shred is cardio + strength, so it’s a good place to start.

I would do 5-6 weeks on one, then switch so your muscles don’t get too used to the routine.  Also, if you aren’t used to weights, I would start with 3lb and work your way up to 5-8lb.  I was doing 8lb on 30 DS, and am doing 3-5lb on NMTZ because it’s more reps.

You definitely have enough time and will look great!
