Dakota2:  i would suggest trying it on, seeing how it looks and then deciding.

Personally I can’t wear anything thats more than 1.5cts because its overwhelming to me, I feel like its not me to wear something that big. I love to look at big rocks but for something that I planned on wearing everyday, I couldn’t do it.

Dakota2:  What is your finger size? I have a 1ct Round Brilliant moissanite, and at first I thought it was huge on my size 5 finger but now I’m thinking I could have gone bigger. Granted, in person I don’t feel its that big, but when i see it in pictures I’m like “dang! That thing is huge!” As for looking yellow, yes moissanite can look yellow and in more “square” cuts I believe it can look more yellow. The larger the stone, the more yellow usually so I’d make sure to get an enhanced stone if you’re not wanting the yellow. I do have an unenhanced stone, and I find it to be extremely white.

Dakota2:

Someone could order ANY gemstone and once they see it IRL they may not love it. You really won’t know until you see your stone upon your finger. Patience, Grasshopper. Make your final choice after it comes in and sits there for a few days or so.

Dakota2:  Upgrade your moissy to a brilliant – that will take out that yellow. DEFINTELY worth the extra.

Regardless of the color, trying on comparable size stones will give you an idea of how it will look size-wise and if it will be too overwhelming. You can still try on a diamond to get an idea of how 2.2 carats will look on your finger, just try on the same cut.

That is enhanced. I have a three stone moissy unenhanced and it looks really white most of the time. I don’t even really see the yellow tbh

I have a 1.5 on a 5.25 finger and wouldn’t want any bigger. Ocassionaly I wish I had a 1 ct instead. Mine looks much larger in photos than it does IRL.

Dakota2:  Forever brilliant is enhanced and a 2 carat moissanite will be slightly bigger than a 2 carat diamond. I think for a size 7 finger, 2 carats wouldn’t seem to big at all. Plus, you’ll want to account for shrinkage (once you get used to the ring on your finger, it looks smaller than it is). I have a .8 carat round and sometimes think I could have done a full carat or even 1.5 and it wouldn’t have been too big.

Also, moissanite does not behave like a diamond. It is NOT a diamond simulant. If you want a diamond simulant, you’d be better off getting an Amora Gem or a high quality CZ. My moissanite is unenhanced, but it is still very white. It does, however, have warmth to it and it is never the icy clear color of a diamond. I love it because of that but if you are very color sensitive, you might not like it.

Dakota2:  Yep, forever brilliant would be enhanced! I’d go into a jewelery store and try on a stone thats 2ct in size. That way you get an idea of size at least. Don’t feel bad about not buying anything- they’re there to help you. And honestly, my jeweler ordered in moissanite for me to try and look at before we even bought it. Maybe one of your local jewelers can get it in?
