We have booked a photographer but we can only do it before December 13th at which time I will be almost 28 weeks. I am 13 weeks now and already showing so I think having a bump won’t be much of a problem. Any thoughts about this? When did you have yours done?

i think thats still early to be honest but maybe its just me. i am 26 weeks and there is nothing huge about me. i know that most people usually get them done around 30+ weeks. but i guess its whatever fits into your schedule.

Whatever bump you have now is probably just mostly bloating. You most likely will have a bump at 28 weeks, but I dont think it would be huge to where people automatically saw it was a maternity shoot.

I think it depends. I know some people that were quite “bump-y” by 28 weeks as they had huge babies in there! For them, they definitely could’ve taken maternity photos and it would’ve clearly been a maternity photo shoot. However, I know other people that carried little babies and their bumps were just never that pronounced. I would schedule it anyway if it fits best with your schedule.

I had mine done at 29 weeks. I had enough of a belly to get nice pics, but hadn’t got to the point of being swollen all over…lol. It was perfect!
Here are a couple.

@babeandbabe: These are beautiful. Thank you! I thought I liked the idea of them being before I got swollen all over 🙂
We got this one really cheap so if I don’t like them I guess I can get it done again.
@allyfally: Thanks. But I am definitely showing. Not bloating. Doctor agrees. I am normally very thin so it didn’t take much to show.
Thanks for the input. Anyone have maternity shots earlier than 30 weeks?

I don’t think it’s too early at all. I am 27 weeks and look super pregnant.

I do some photography, and this summer had a maternity client. I told her that 28-32 weeks is the magic time, but she was busy & waited til 37.5 weeks. She told me she regreted it because she felt huge. Personally, as a non-pregnant person, but one who knows about photos, being visable but not gigantic is best. You will feel pregnant but not miserable. Good luck!
