Why they being nosy for? Geez. We got engaged at 3 years 8 months – it’s not a long time.

Don’t listen to them, it’s just noise.

What idiotic comments. It’s different for everyone and 3.5 years is objectively not that long. Plus, it seems like it was actually 2.5 years… I don’t quite understand the part about him asking for a year?

I got engaged after 6 years and it was absolutely perfect timing for me.

I waited 7 (and was perfectly happy with our timeline) so I don’t think 3.5 is long at all.

Ughhhh what terrible judgy people they sound like!!! My S/O and I have been together 7 1/2 years and about to be engaged, and I wouldn’t change a THING about our timeline!!! Remember every relationship is different, there is NO need to live your life on someone else’s timeline. Congrats girl!!! Just be happy:)!!!

Whaaat..that’s so rude 😳 I’m guessing they were trying to make your bf feel bad/pressured into buying something from them asap. Ugh. 3.5 years is definitely not long in my opinion. My fiance and I have been together for almost 9 years and he just proposed this past week..cant imagine what those sales people would’ve said to us πŸ˜‚

Huh? Who thinks 3 and a half years is a long time lol especially if he technically asked you a year ago, in my circle that’s actually quite quick! My fiance and I got engaged after 6 years, and from everyone I know there has been a range from 2-9 years lol don’t worry about it, everyone is different! And congratulations πŸ™‚

First of all, congratulations!! Secondly, forget those people! I went into a jewelry store with a friend once and they all made dumbass comments like that! And they had waited for 12 years! I was like no way am I getting my ring from salespeople like that. When I tried one on the woman asked how long we had been dating and I said “a little over a year” her response was “you deserve a big diamond for waiting that long” I was like aaaaaand I’m out. I just walked out of the store! No idea why these people think they can sell rings like that. My jeweler was suuuper laid back. If he said I “deserved” a big stone I would have walked right out the door! He was just super happy for us!

You didn’t ask for their opinion so it’s rude of them to comment! But since *you* asked us, here’s mine! πŸ˜›

Is 3.5 years long? It depends! If you’re 20 years old, 3.5 years is not long. If you’re 25, about right? If you are 30 and over, 3.5 years feels long. For your reference, we’re in our 30s and got engaged after 3.5 years. My parents have been asking me over and over loooog before that.
