I just ordered a potential pair of wedding shoes but as I wait for them to come in I keep thinking: is 3inches too high a heel for 8 hours of standing…?
Part 2: I work in an office… would it be unreasonable to wear them at work one day for the entire 8 hours I am there (inside) and see how my feet feel? or is that just weird…?

I don’t think 3 inches is too high, but it’s a lot about personal preference. Id on’t see why you couldn’t wear them to work… it may not give you the best sense of how they’ll feel, though, since you probably sit all day.

@LovelyLaura8: Let me preface with I don’t like wearing high heels at all, but for the wedding I am wearing 4in heels. My 4in heels have a platform in front, so it shouldn’t be too bad. If my 4in heels aren’t bad, than your 3in heels will be fine.
Do you have a picture of your shoes?!?

I do sit for most of the day but I do go up and down the stairs quite a few times a day. My thought was if I can withstand 9 hours at work, including lunch, I can probably wear them for my wedding. Also that will help break them in…right? How else do you break in a shoe?

It depends on you. I wear 4″ and up on a daily basis for work and I usually do 2″-3″ on weekends, so 3″ for me would be fine. It’s not like you literally will be standing for 8 hours straight. I would recommend you pick a comfortable pair though, as not all heels are equal in comfort. For example, I find a lot of the faux leather/PVC ones to be uncomfortable over time because they don’t breathe or stretch and my feet feel like they’re all hot and sweaty.
I would also break my wedding shoes in around the house on carpet/clean floors rather than for work because I plan to do shoe pictures and I have a terrible habit of kicking the wheels of my roll-y office chair and I don’t want the soles to be dirty.

I love my heels but rarely wear them… I can walk in most just fine but my feet get sore after 3-4 hours in a 4 inch heel.
