No success story! But I am also 40 trying for my first! My doctor doesn’t seem worried but said she would refer me to fertility if I don’t get pregnant quickly! I’ll be calling her next month if we are not pregnant next cycle! most of my friends didn’t have babies until after 35 and only one had help!

My best friend is 38, she just had her 5th! She had her 4th when she was 36. She had a home birth and everything went great. I’m planning for my 3rd when I’m 38. My other friend had her 4th at 40. Both of them got pregnant within 3 months of TTC. Good luck!!!

Eta she was timing it to increase their chances.

I got pregnant right before my 35th birthday and it took 7 cycles which I think is pretty normal even if I had just turned 25!

I got pregnant at 35.  Had my positive test 2 weeks after we decided to stop preventing.  We were using fertility awareness at the time so I knew that I was ovulating when we made the decision.  When I had my Implanon removed my doc said not to panic and explained that timing really is a big part of conceiving.  I hope things work out well for you.

preeti1010:  I got a BFP on my 36th birthday after 5 cycles of trying. I was worried that my age would be problematic. Of course the fact that in high school we’re sometimes led to believe that sex=automatic pregnancy leads to unrealistic expectations surrounding how easy reproduction will be once we start TTC.

There are lots of women on here in their 20’s who are dealing with infertility or who are not infertile, but take a while to get pregnant, and on the other hand there are women much older than you who get lucky right away. Be encouraged! Best wishes to you!
