My fiance and I are going to Maui for a simple, very small wedding, and will be there for 7 nights. Is that too long? I’m worried about not having anything to do.
Also– what’s the weather in Hawaii in October?

Do you live in Alaska?
ETA: The reason I ask is that it’s almost a full day of travel, if you’re coming from Alaska. It really would be five days. I don’t think that’s too much time!

@alaska_99705: I think 7 nights is wonderful and would do it in a heartbeat. We went to Maui for our honeymoon last October. It was divine. Weather was perfect. Some extra warm days but nothing too drastic. We were there for about a week and enjoyed Lahaina’s historic downtown and local artisan craft fair under the banyan tree, a luau, snorkeling, sunrise on Haleakala, shopping and took in the night life. We took the Road to Hana and back. Stopping for a tropical walk to see the rainbow eucaliptus, banana and coconut trees. We lounged at the resort and had a couples massage. Walked on beach after beach. Super romantic. It was restful without feeling like we were scrounging for stuff to do.

We did 7 days/6 nights in Maui (also for someone else’s DW) and it was great. That said, we didn’t do a resort but a condo rental instead. Maui is super relaxing so we often just drove around, went to the beach, snorkeled, shopped, strolled, etc. By the end, we sort of ran of out things to do, but mostly because we were too cheap to go ziplining or do a helicopter tour, and we were too scared to attempt the drive to Hana. Maui was definitely more about relaxing and looking out at the ocean rather than a jam-packed schedule of activities.
