what are your thoughts on a 1.5 carat round solitaire it is what my fiancè wants to get me but I go back and forth between it being too small or too big. I have tried it on many times but am still unsure. Have any of you got a 1.5 carat solitaire? And how do you feel about it now that you have your E-ring?

I have a 5.25 finger and I have a .75 solitaire. I absolutely love it and wouldn’t want anything else. For me, it would be too big…but it all depends on taste and lifestyle!

Depends on the size of your hands/fingers and your personal preference. My finger is a size 8 and I have big hands, for a solitaire a 2 carat is the smallest I would go for me. Anything lower looks small.

brianna4565 : thank you! Yes I’ve heard that once you have the ring the diamond seems to appear smaller and smaller the longer you wear it especially because my mother in-law to be has a 3 carat solitaire!
just means more saving for the dream ring!

livkb : It’s really up to what you like. I’ve had my 1.5 carat cushion for a little over a year now and I still feel like it’s too big sometimes. I’ve definitely never thought it was too small. I have a size 6.25 finger for reference.

livkb : My finger size is 6.25 and I have a 2ct cushion which is perfect, and I also have a 1.5ct round which appears to more of a spread…I love them but as PP stated it’s really what your preference is.

I have a size 7-8 finger and have a 1.5ct moissanite and feel its the perfect size for me personally. 2ct was just a tad bit much for me but its all preference. Overall I think 1.5 is the sweet spot, not too big and not too small.

It’s a wonderful size and certainly would be a biggy around here.
A beautifully cut sparkly 1.5 carat solitaire on a plain band is just devine and so elegant. Plus perfect for stacking if you like that.

I actually get my 1.5 ct diamond later today! I’m so excited!!! I have a 1 ct diamond that I absolutely love and my hubby decided to upgrade me to 1.5. I could never think a 1.5 ct is too small on me, but I have a small size 4 finger. I think it will be the perfect size for me and I know I will love it just as much as my 1 ct!

What is your ring size? I have a 1.5 round brilliant and I very much still flip between it being too small and just right. When I see pictures of huge rings online, I feel like mine is too small but I have had people tell me that it is huge. I also noticed that my feelings towards it change depending on what lighting its in. If that is what you want and are able to afford, go for it! My “too small” feelings are really my own insecurity issue and my hatred of my fingers- they are a size 7.5ish which makes anything look small when youre comparing to people with size 4 fingers.

It’d probably look huge on me. My ring size is 3.5 so even my .75 takes up a lot of room.

This question really depends on finger size and personal preference. I am a size 4.25 and wear a 1.72 carat diamond so in my opinion a size 1.5 carat would be a lovely size.

I have a 0.70 princess cut. My finger is a 5.25 so my ring is tiny compared to everyone else here. I am totally fine with what I got because I love the setting. Fiance would have bought a bigger ring, but that felt selfish to me. I think it is totally personal choice.

Really depends on your fingers…I have short, size 5 fingers, and even 1 carat looks too big for my tastes, too much finger coverage for me. But on someone with like size 7, 8 or larger, 1.5 carats could seem smaller because it covers less of the finger. If you can, I’d reccomend trying on something that’s 2 carats or larger for a comparison. If you look at 2 carats and say “woah, too big” then you’ll probably be fine with 1.5, but if you are okay with the 2 then 1.5 might feel too small.

My finger is a size 5.75 but I like my ring a size 6. I thought on me a 1.5 ct (7mm round) was a great size.
