So I’m not engaged yet (soon hopefully!) but I’ve been struggling to decide what size I want my stone to be. So I ordered a $5 CZ pear in size 10x80mm (2.5 carat equivalent I believe) to see how it would look on my finger. I love the size but the pear almost looks too round? Should I go with a 11×7.5mm moissanite instead of 10x8mm so it’s a little longer and skinnier? I have short stubby fingers so I’m trying to find something that will elongate it a bit more!
(p.s sorry the photos are so large, not sure how to make them smaller)

I personally love the look of chunky/fat pears but I think if you went down in width by 0.5 mm it would give you that elongated look of your fingers you’re going for!

Here’s a link to a guide for pear shaped diamonds. I used it when I purchased my pear shaped replacement. https://www.lumeradiamonds.com/diamond-education/pear-shaped-diamond
The look of pear shaped diamonds are very personal, so there’s really no wrong dimensions for this fancy cut stone. According to GIA standards, the L/W ratio is the length in mm divided by the width in mm. Then you can compare it to the chart to see what the rating would be. Hope this helps you decide in choosing your pear.

Yeah going to go against the grain and say I don’t like this. Too chunky for my liking I love the enlongeated look (I also have short fingers!)

IMO, I don’t know if I would be able to tell it’s a pear unless you A. Told me or B. I stared for an extended time. It looks like an oddly shaped oval. Definitely at first glance I wouldn’t catch the shape. I don’t think it’s very flattering on your hand and believe a true, elongated pear would look so lovely!!

I think it’s way too round. I feel like a good pear looks more oval with a point.
