In my wedding ring quest, I go back and forth on what I want every few weeks (really, it’s a good thing I don’t express my ring ideas outloud or my FH would think I was just a little too ring crazy) Sometimes it’s a thin diamond eternity band, sometimes pink sapphires and rose gold, sometimes a plain, classic band.
I’ve ordered a super cheepo 2mm titanium band to wear when I can’t wear my Ering, and I thought it would give me an idea of what my ring set would look like with a skinny, plain band. I feel like the thin band would look amazing with my solitare engagement ring, but I’m not sure how it would look on my finger when I’m wearing just my wedding ring.
I see lots of Bee’s with 2mm diamond bands, but what about wearing a 2mm plain band on it’s own…too thin? Any pictures?
For refence, here’s my ring

I wear only a 2 mm gold band (the one on top). I love it!

I have a 2.5mm eternity band and I feel that it’s too small to wear on it’s own…but that’s just me.I’m thinking about getting a 3.5-5 mm ring.
Most men’s rings start at 5mm if that gives you any feel for how big some are. My Darling Husband has a 7mm ring and it’s pretty wide!

mine is 2mm and I think it looks really weird on its own for me. Its just personal preference. I’ve seen thin bands on other people and don’t think it looks bad on them.

I don’t think so! Love the thin bands because they feel less annoying on the finger, IMO.

I think my 2mm diamond band looks fine on its own but I have very small hands. I almost never wear it alone though.

I thought a 1.5 or a 2mm band would be perfect- until I tried them on. Way too skinny for my hands. I don’t think they’re flat out too thin to wear alone but you may want to try some on for reference. I also didn’t realize how delicate they felt until I tried them on, to the point that I was nervous I’d end up breaking it.

Mine is 2mm eternity and I love it. I actually feel that with the two rings together (so 4mm total) it’s too much. I like wearing my wedding band on it’s own.

My band is a plain white gold 2 mm and though I rarely wear it alone because I love my ering, I would do so happily. It doesn’t feel particularly delicate (it’s sort of rounded up and not totally flat – but almost unnoticably) and I don’t think it’s too thin to wear alone at all.

I wear a 2.5 mm alone on my right hand.

I have a 1.9mm plain plat band that I wear sometimes on it’s own, and it looks fine. I will take a pic and post it later. 🙂

I have a very plain 2mm band that I wear on occasion.
sometimes I love how it looks so much, I want to wear it instead of my usual diamond/moissanite set. also, it’s comfort fit, and I can barely feel it there!

@SuzySchmoozy: gah I drool every time I see your ring! aaaaaaamazing!

Mine is 1.5 or 1.8 and it doesn’t look too thin to wear. But I do prefer thin bands so when I finally get to wear my wedding band (also 1.5 or 1.8), I can still bend my knuckle.

Stalking my mail for my little stand in ring… can’t wait to see if I like the size for everyday wear 🙂
FH and I are happily Eloping…the rings are pretty much the ONE “traditional” part of our not-so-big day..I might just be putting TOO much emphasis on this decision!
