It should be fine! Ours was only four hours, but ours was also a daytime reception.

mine was 5 hours too. and like you, our ceremony was at 4pm.  dinner was 5-7pm, bonfire on beach was 7-10pm.  I was kind of disappointed when the resort told me that we had to end all events by 10pm, but when that day came, we were pretty exhausted!  And rather than dancing on the beach till 2am, we continued our wedding fun in our hotel room  😉

since your timeline is basically the same as mine, i will tell you one thing, make sure you have time for pictures! my timeline was so tight that when one thing took longer than planned, what got cut was picture time  🙁

Actually, we only had about a 4 hour reception.  Ceremony at 6, cocktail hour at 6:30, reception at 7.  It worked out beautifully, and let’s face it, we were exhausted by the end of the evening!

Yeah we had a 3 hour reception…I went to a wedding a week after ours and it was the same time as yours and it was only about 3.5 hours and it felt like it drug on. So I think 5 hours is a God’s plenty.

Ours followed the same timeline and it ended up being perfectly fine. We had ~95 people. If we’d had a much bigger wedding, I would have maybe wanted more time, but for that size wedding it was perfect.

5 hours should be plenty of time. Our reception will be 5 hours as well, our ceremony will be at 5:30 and we have our venue from 7-12. Just make sure to add in driving time to and from your ceremony to reception venues and plenty of time for pictures after ceremony (be sure to include drive time as well if your going to more than 1location for pics). By the time its over you will be glad it ended wen it did.
