@coffeegal85:  My doggie is 60 pounds!  I think she’s just right.  She has a deep chest and long thin legs.

Our dog is 58lbs and he is perfect for us. We live in a apartment with 1150 sq. feet and he has a super mellow disposition.

haha umm so I posted a photo but I guess my text didn’t go through? So I’ll re-do it.

The dalmatian is 55-60 pounds & the husky is around 45-50 in this photo. The husky looks bigger because she’s taller. They’re both the perfect size dogs :). The husky was a lot more work (not her fault, she wasn’t really trained). They’re big enough to feel protected on walks & home alone. Small enough to rough house with & not worry we’ll be knocked out, yet big enough that I won’t worry about breaking them if I accidentally step on them. Good size if you like to hike, because they fit well in the car & I don’t have to worry about a hawk flying off with them (heard this can happen with small dogs, kinda scary)!

my parents have a springer spaniel who weighs about 50lbs, and I never, ever thought she was big until my husband and I got shelties, who weigh less than 20lbs, lol. it’s all about perspective! I like having our little dogs now because i can pick them both up easily if i ever need to, and they’re light enough to carry in carrier bags on public transportation–it’s much cheaper in nyc to take them on the subway than in a cab when they need to go to the vet, and if they were too big to fit in a bag that’d be impossible
