That’s a tough one.  I think makeup trials are good because often times the pictures that are on MUA’s websites are photoshopped by photographers.  You also never know if your skin might be sensitive to the makeup she uses.  If you’re getting fake lashes and you’ve never worn them before it’s good to get used to them too.

Yes absolutely – take it from someone who hated her first trial as the very popular, reputable MUA made me look ugly and then argued with me about the changes I wanted. If I hadn’t had a trial that would have been happening on my wedding day.

My second trial was great but took a while as we tried various different things. Even if I’d gone straight to the second MUA I’d still say a trial is an absolute must.

I didn’t bother with it. I couldn’t justify the cost either. I already used my make up artist before and I love her work.

I didn’t have one for the same exact reasons as you… Cost to get there and cost of having the trial done and honestly, looking back… I wish I had because my wedding day makeup was not what I envisioned. If I’d had a trial I would have been able to point out the things I wanted done differently and hopefully my day-of makeup would have been better.

Yes! I had two awful make up trials before finding my MUA and I am grateful for every penny I spent on trials.
