@cieritaqt:  If your vendors are all booked, then it sounds like all you really need is a day of coordinator.  Does this woman offer any less expensive packages for just the day of?  Unless you’re having a huge wedding party and very large rehearsal dinner, I don’t think a coordinator is necessary for that.  Or are there any other DOCs that offer less expensive packages?

I agree. If you have all of your venues book then I don’t think you need a wedding coordinator. Does your venue have a coordinator to make sure things run smoothly on your wedding day?

yes its worth it.  to have someone there day of to communicate your vision for lighting, centerpieces, chair ties, problem solve seating issues, food issues, to carry your extra lipstick and tell you when your necklace is crooked for pictures and calm down your mom and to put the pocketfolds perfectly in all the groomsmen’s tuxes…just a few things i didn’t have to think about bc of my coordinator.

Does your venue have anyone who does this? Our venue has a coordinator assigned to our wedding and she takes cares of all the stuff I can’t the day of.

You’re already so far along a wedding coordinator seems a little unneccessary at this point. If you’ve made it this far without one youre doing awesome!

Usually the contact person at your venue can help take care of the details on the day of so you dont have to worry. Also, many florists act as coordinators of a sort since they are the creatives of the group and usually want ot keep a whole vision – maybe contact yours and do a walkthrough before the big day. IMO, a wedding corrdinator isn’t worth the money. If you cant find any vendors to help you with the lat min stuff you could alwyas make a checklist beforehand and assign it to some trusted friends or relatives.

@cieritaqt:  You don’t necessarily have to get THAT particular event coordinator, but I definitely cannot say enough times how important it is to have a professional executing your vision and handling logistics on the day-of. So much so that I fired mine because we weren’t “clicking” and hired another. I’m SO glad I made that decision. When I wake up on the morning of my wedding, being anything other than just a bride is not an option. I won’t even have a cell phone on me.

@cieritaqt:  Without having someone at the venue plus it not being a typical wedding venue I would probably invest in the day of coordinator. Even though it seems like a lot, it is a good price for what is typically charged. Do you have pictures of the nature preserve? Sounds like a gorgeous spot for a wedding!
