I wish you luck. It sounds beautiful and I’m in awe. I cant say I feel your stress but I  CAN say that I’m sending you warm fuzzy good vibes!

OMG, that’s what I’m doing: we’re getting married at my parents’ 5 acre home in the woods. Luckily, my family is taking care of “renovations” (stuff they insisted they were planning on doing anyways, to alleviate my guilt). But I’m aiming for elegant while DIYing a lot of it. It’s insanity, thinking about bathrooms and lighting and food and where everything is going to happen–but it’s also exciting. Having it my family home is like having a huge blank canvas–and I know I won’t see other photos of couple’s weddings there.

I’m trying to stay focused on the things I love (table runners! paper lanterns! votive wraps!) and the things I really don’t care much about (flowers, for example), and I’m delegating those tasks out. I think it’ll keep me sane. If only there were more things I didn’t care about controlling…(:

But it’s also hard, keeping the thing from falling too far one way (“rustic”) or another (“stuffy”). But that’s another thread, isn’t it…?
