we’re using depositagift.com too! they include a complete wedding website that you can decorate with pics and video for free. it’s working out really well. in fact, i just had my first shower and people even printed the gift certificates they offer at checkout to bring as gifts.

I must’ve been living underneath a rock!  I haven’t heard of this till now but I think a honeymoon fund is an awesome idea!  My Fiance have been together for 13 years, living together for 1 so we don’t really need anything for the house.  We are on such a budget for our wedding that this would totally help with our honeymoon expenses.

We are doing Honeymoonwishes.com too!  We’ve also done a basic registry at Target to refresh some of the home items that need to be replaced.  We’ll most likely end up having a yard sale to get rid of all the old stuff we’ve replaced.

We used Honeyfund and loved it! Our guests gave so much positive feedback and were very generous in their gifting. I typically like bringing an item off of a couple’s registry but after having our honeymoon registry I would be thrilled to contribute to honeymoon registries in the future. We decided early on to upgrade the site to include pictures and a background. I think it helped to make it look more reputable.

I know someone mentioned that there is no guarantee that the contribution will go towards the honeymoon and that is definitely true. As soon as we received a gift pledge we would move the full amount to our vacation savings account, which is separate from our general savings account. While you can’t be certain what the couple will use the funds for, there is no way of knowing if the same couple would return your gift to a Bed Bath & Beyond or Macy’s and get cash or store credit back in order to go buy other things.

Hello Brides to be,

I used a honeymoon registry for my wedding because my husband and I had been living together for a few years before we got married. We thought instead of registering at Macy’s for things we already have, we’d get a honeymoon registry and go on a really memorable trip for our honeymoon.

We used honeymoonwishes.com

It was amazing! The site was so easy for my family and friends to use and we got so many gifts. The site allowed us to pick our destination and gave us a HUGE variety of things to do at our destination. I strongly suggest this site over honeyfund.com

I had a gal pal use honeyfund and she hated it. It really is just an IOU site and at her wedding she didn’t recieve all the money that was pledged. (although I know this is more of a family and friend issue, I still did not trust the site to use it myself).

Honeymoonwishes.com was great! Even if you’re already using another site, I really think it is worth it to check out this site.

Congrats and good luck!

We are using http://www.honeymoonwishes.com & have received a few gifts already! Everyone loves it! We also registered at Macys & Crate & Barrel mainly for bridal shower gifts.  I think a lot of people will use the honeymoon registry for wedding gifts as it seems more personal than just giving a check/cash.

We’re also registered at honeymoonwishes.com and love it so far. We’ve gotten most of our gifts there even though we’re also registered at Pottery Barn and Williams Sonoma. At first I was going to set up our honeymoon registry at HoneyFund but then the IOU thing sort of bummed me out. You basically have to keep track of all the gifts yourself and they don’t handle the money at all. Honeymoonwishes will just send you a check worth all your gifts when you’re ready for it. They do charge a fee, but you can have it so its tacked onto what the guests selected like tax or shipping/handling (in fact that’s even how the site describes it). So far I couldn’t be happier and our guests really like the idea of buying us something fun like a hot air baloon ride and not just a place setting.
