We haven’t decided for certain yet, but it’s an option we’re considering.

We are planning our wedding on a Saturday, but we recently went to a Sunday wedding and it was lovely. Most of the brides family were from out of state. There were about 50 people. Ceremony was at 530pm and pictures and reception was right after.

The only reason why we had to leave early is because our baby sitter had something to do at 830pm! That was a bummer. We probably would’ve stayed longer.

I think it will be beautiful no matter what day!

We did a Sunday wedding.  It worked out fine for us.  I think Friday weddings are harder because many people would need to take off Thursday for travel, AND Friday, whereas for Sunday weddings they might only need to take Monday.

Oh, I guess I should add – our ceremony was at 3 PM, so people were fed by 7-ish and could leave if they wanted.  Many of our (husband’s) friends live in the area, so most of them worked the next day.  A good amount of family members took Monday off, and we had a huge group at the hotel bar for the after party.

As long as its ok to your VIPs, it should be fine!

I recently went to a wedding on a Sunday and it was really lovely.  Most of the guests left right after dinner though, so if you do a later reception don’t plan on too many people hanging out all night.

My wedding is on a Sunday. The venue offered 10% off for a Sunday wedding. Also here in melbourne Australia where I live, my wedding falls of a long weekend. Tuesday is the public holiday but most people take the Monday off too.

I’m getting married on a Monday. It’s not Sunday, but its not a Saturday, the norm of the wedding world 🙂

I’m getting married on a Sunday! It’s actually a very standard day for Jewish people to get married, because we’re not allowed to get married on our Sabbath, which takes up most of Saturday.  I actually just posted a question about my Sunday wedding as well! I was wondering if it is rude to have an evening wedding on a Sunday…

I am getting married on Sunday and it so happens to be Easter Sunday! But no one has a problem with it seeing as it is at 5:30. We saved over $600 on just our DJ alone for having it on Sunday! I say go for it!

I just went to my first Sunday wedding yesterday, actually. It worked just fine. The ceremony started at noon, and the reception was over at roughly 6PM. I didn’t take today (Monday) off because the wedding wasn’t far, and didn’t plan on drinking a lot, but taking one day off isn’t that big of a deal if your guests are traveling far or want to really party hard.

We did a semi-destination Sunday evening wedding where Monday was a Federal holiday. It worked well for us. Ceremony at 5:30 followed immediately by cocktail hour and dinner. Our last guests left at 11:30pm because Mr. LK and I were exhausted and ready to call it a night.
