I booked a suite at a hotel and its very expensive, that is, 475 $, parking included. It has a beautiful big room and a living room. When I first booked the suite, I was thinking we would invite some people over after the reception and have a few drinks with them and something to eat. Now, I’m kind of changing my mind. I will have seen those people since the start of the wedding ceremony at 3 pm and I figure by 110 pm at night I will be just too exhausted to entertain or to have people around me and my husband. So, today i booked a nice room, no living room, just so my husband and I can go after the reception and relax. I think I will be wedding-out after the whole day.
Are any of you booking a hotel room to go to after your wedding reception or are you just going home?

Definitely booking a room in a swank hotel! I would never go home after my wedding but that’s just me.

I am just getting a cheaap room at the Super 8, its more fun that way. If you went home, I would imagine that it wouldnt be as much fun. If i were you, i would stick with the hotel 🙂

I rented a room for after our wedding upon the suggestion of our bridal manager because she said going back home would just “feel weird” after all that goes into the wedding, the excitement of the day, etc. I am SO glad I listened! It was nice to not go back to routine right after our special day 🙂

We live about 2.5 hours from where our wedding will be, so we have a hotel room for the night before and the night of.

We are def booking a hotel room for that night — we live a good 45 minute drive from our venue and the alcohol will be FLOWING!
It won’t be anything fancy though.. 🙂

We were going to book a hotel room, but then it ended up that we had to leave for the airport at 7 am the day after the wedding, so we decided going home would just be less stressful.

We booked a hotel room. Partly because we had an early flight out the next day and needed to be close to the airport, but also because it was our wedding night!

We rented a hotel room..we had to, I wasn’t going to spend the night at my parents haha. And we live 750 miles away from where we got married. But it wasn’t anything special..but we had a huge bed which was very nice.

Thank you all for your responses. Now I’m convinced I will be booking the hotel room. Can’t wait. And its so funny that I booked the room in the very first hotel I stayed in some 30 years ago when I first came to this city with my high school. Life is so funny sometimes. I’m sure hubby and I will enjoy this quiet time together after a day full of excitement.

We’re staying in a hotel! We’re also getting married 450 miles from home!

We had a hotel room. We figured since it was our one and only wedding night, we should go at least a little bit out, especially since we weren’t going crazy with the honeymoon. We booked a room at one of the more swanky hotels and got the “wedding night package” which got us champagne, fruit/chocolate/cheese/cracker basket, late check out and free brunch the next morning. It was awesome! We didn’t get to the hotel ’til around 2AM, so it was awesome to snack, relax and cuddle after the long day.

@Lauraine: We rented a beach house for the week leading up to the wedding and the wedding. We plan to stay there for the night of the wedding and the next night to recover. Then I think we will be wedding’d out.

We booked a room for the night in one of the swanky hotels in the area, since we figured it’s a once in a lifetime night!

our wedding is taking place in a hotel and a honeymoon suite is apart of the package. so we’re staying the night of the wedding and extending our stay for an additional night so we don’t have to rush to check out in the morning.
