I think you can certainly pull off a “wedding dress loooking” bridesmaid dress. I’ve had friends purchase white prom dresses that looked more like a wedding gown thatn a prom dress and nobody knew except those of us that were there when she bought it. It’s your day and you can rock anything you want!

My good friend did that 🙂 And for the same reasons as you! She looked lovely! As long as the dress feels bridal to you, it’ll work just fine 🙂 Here’s a picture of her 🙂 She was 8 1/2 months pregnant too ! heheh

i’m wearing one for my after party (after six 6553). i think as long as you love your dress, it doesn’t matter if it’s bridal, bridesmaid, or just something off the rack that you love! i know bcbg has a lot of really great styles that would work for a wedding, and the photo you posted is gorgeous! what’s the designer and style name?

Would be fine, i was interested in this but was horrified when the bridal shop said to get the $500 Bridesmaid or Best Man dress in white would cost nearly $2000, just a rip off. Wound up ordering a beautiful dress from china, highly recommend.

If Jessica Parker can wear black to her wedding, I’m sure no one will even bat an eye if you opt to go with the Bridesmaid or Best Man dress. As long as you’re comfy and happy, that’s all that matters.

My friend did this!  She ordered a full-length bridesmaid’s dress in ivory from Watters and added a sash.  She looked beautiful and no one could tell it was not a “wedding” dress.

Another friend wore a knee-length Vera Wang bridesmaid’s dress in black.  Obviously, it did not look like a “wedding” dress, but it did look special, if that makes sense.

I almost did it. I had a couple dresses picked out but then the salon people tried to get me to try on bridal gowns and they had one off the rack, fit me perfect, and was a great price!

My style tends to lean more to bridesmaid dresses so it is a definite option for me. I think no one will really care what section of the store your dress came from, if your wearing it, and you’re the bride, then it’s a bridal dress.

@missmarchmommy:  That dress is GORGEOUS. Where did you find it at?

Here’s one that I’m looking at.
