I’ve been noticing lately that I eat more when I’m really stressed out. Food and chewing seem to calm me. Is anyone else like this? What do you do to control cravings? Gaining weight before the wedding will just lead to more stress…
I exercise 4-5 times a week, so I have a somewhat otherwise healthy lifestyle.

I JUST started doing this in my 30’s. But I will do it like, I’m having a really bad day and don’t want to make dinner, I will go to a really pricey sushi dinner or just go to eat at my favorite restaurant. Eating well comforts me:) If i get ice cream i will only eat a LIL bit and give the rest to my 12 year old. Or if I buy a cupcake I will have two bites and give it to my son. But even just the two bites of that cupcake comfirt me. BUT my dress doesn’t fit so that lil habit of mine is on hold til after June 16! My favorite indulgence? A BIG glass of red wine!!! I excersize all the time too so my style of “comfort eating isn’t too bad.

Absolutely! I go totally crazy sometimes and eat like a maniac. I try to stop myself, but then I’m like I DON’T CARE RIGHT NOW! And then later I feel super annoyed with myself. I’m generally healthy and I work out otherwise, but these slumps can see me gain 10 pounds easily.

I definitely a stress eater and honestly have never found a way to control it. That’s why I gained weight before my wedding and then gained even more when my job situation sent me into depression and anxiety.
I’ve just kind of accepted that it is a part of my life.

I’m absolutely a stress eater! The only way I’ve found to moderately control this is to NOT buy junk food. If it’s in the house, I will eat it when stressed. Somehow, celery or a granola bar isn’t the same. I still occasionally stop at the local bakery, so this isn’t foolproof by any means.
