nixnox :  I only just got engaged (Dec 20th) and I’m overwhelmed just thinking about planning! The only thing that the Hubs and I know we want to do is go to Italy in June ’19 (can’t agree on location though…). But the thought of having to organze about 200 people (both big Jewish families) in NYC is exhausting….

nixnox :  You’re definitely not alone!  Fiance and I have been engaged a for over a year, but decided to move our wedding across the country so we’ve had to start all over!  It’s so stressful, but I know we’ll be able to do it! Do you have a wedding planner?  Since we got ours, it’s been a lot easier, I completely recommend one.

I’m right there with you! All we’ve done is looked at venues and I already feel overwhelmed. I think part of my issue has been already having so many people imput their opinions on how our wedding SHOULD be.

YES. I have been engaged since Oct. 2016. Although I have almost everything booked, I feel like the last few months have been going by way too fast and I won’t have time to get everything done!

nixnox :  I’m getting married in less than three months, and only got engaged in September. Weirdly enough, in September I just hit the ground running, making appointments and choosing vendors. It seemed super simple and stress free.

Now that the holidays have passed, and my wedding is coming up so soon, I am having horrible anxiety about everything getting done. And honestly, I’m not even sure why?!?! My vendors are booked, my venue is all inclusive, and all my other vendors are very familiar with the venue. I am stressing over things I can’t even do yet.

The only thing helping me at this point, is to breathe, and tackle only the next task. One day at a time!

Yep . . . yep. 😑 Got engaged, like, almost 2 weeks ago. I don’t even want to plan the damn wedding. Court house sounds great. Then honeymoon. The end. Lol

Yes! I feel like I need to find the PERFECT venue, and can’t stop until I look at every damn one.

Yes, constantly! I’m also a June bride and I feel like I’m behind on EVERYTHING. I’ve only been planning since last fall so I’m also working a much shorter time frame than a lot of bees, and it’s causing me no end of anxiety. So I’m just taking it one day at a time, one task at a time — and trying to keep in mind that it’s just one day, and even if things aren’t perfect, the end result is the same. I’ll be married to the love of my life, which is the only thing that really matters!

tryptofanaticat :  I’m so with you on the courthouse wedding! I really wish we could, but both our Jewish families would pitch an absolute FIT

Not even engaged and the thought of planning has ALWAYS overwhelmed me. I pray for an elopment or microwedding.

I’ve found some elements of wedding planning are an emotional hot button for me.  I have anxiety and particular things trigger it so it’s no surprise that elements of wedding planning that are related to that bring out deeper emotions and have had me on edge.  My strategy has been to continue meeting with my therapist and schedule in self care like massages, working out and time with friends.

I felt like that a lot, but the worst was the week leading up to it-though I planned everything so far in advance, I left SO many little details until the last minute. And it made for a horrible week! Make sure you get things done as soon as you can so you can have a more relaxing week before the big day. I was an absolute nervous wreck and it was awful! But it feels SO good when it’s over!!
