What did I do to cut our floral budget? Cut florals! lol. There will be 0 flower decor at our wedding. The only flowers I’ll have will be the bouquets, bouts, and corsages. And for those to save money I picked a color I liked and that was it. I told the florist that she could do whatever she wanted as long as everything was green and cheap. My floral budget is $300 by the way.

    I spent $431.00 on flowers.

I bought from a wholesaler and DIY’d (with family members) my bouquet, 4 bridesmaid bouquets, 2 alter pieces, 10 table centre pieces, a toss bouquet, 4 corsages, and 2 boutonieres.

We used whatever was in season and available walk-in a couple days before the wedding.

I’m doing my own centerpieces from silk flowers, I have a brooch bouquet my mom gave me as a wedding present and Christmas gift, and for bouts and corsages we’re actually just doing brooches.

I know that floral prices are outrageous, so we have decided to DIY the arrangements. I’ve helped at a wedding in doing the flowers, so it’s definitely possible. I already have many family and friends ready to help, so it’s going to be fine! Enough bees have told me about their DIY successes, so I think that it’s going to be okay!

I had a flower quote for $1,300.  A little too expensive for my taste (and budget), so I am going to shop around a bit more.  If that doesn’t work the floral list will have to be drastically cut.

i was trying to keep cost down by using Bamboo but my florist was not very good at helping with suggestions.  I probably should have shopped around more.  n the end we end up getting lost of orchids which drove my price up.

Flowers are ridiculously priced; however, if you stop to think about what goes into growing them, transporting them, putting them all together, etc., it puts it in a better perspective. That being said, I couldn’t justify the cost of real flowers when they are just going to die anyway, so I am using all silk flowers. I am lucky that my ceremony and reception venue is already decorated and the decorations are included in the price, so all I have had to do is DIY some aisle vases and will DIY a coupler feather flower towers and make my bouquet and the girls bouquets. I am making pocket squares for the guys and a brooch for his mom, so that will save money too. I think once all is said and done, our cost for florals will be less than $500.00.

My floral budget is a bit crazy, but includes flowers for ceremony/reception and a lounge area.  However, I don’t just think of it as just paying for flowers.  I have no DIY talent and putting flowers together to look as amazing as the bouquets and centerpieces I’ve seen florists design and arrange is definitely not happening.  I think when thinking of florals and floral budgets we also have to think of the labor put into those.

I got a quote for 3300 including floral centerpieces, cocktail table center pieces, ceremony design and of course, family and wedding party flowers. My budget was around 1.5k to 2k though. My mom was nice enough and agree to get the flowers. This price was cut down from 4200.

Our flower budget was under $300.  We did not have floral decorations at the ceremony, other than our bouquets and bout.  Even the canopy did not have flowers:

At the reception, the only flowers were freeze-dried rose petals scattered on the cake and the tables:

If you don’t want to spend a lot of money on flowers, just don’t.  To my mind, they are quite expensive for something that will die in a short time.

I recieved a quote for $3,500… ummm NO! I need a bridal bouquet, 6 BM’s bouquets, 9 bouts, 6 coursages, 25 table centerpieces, plus gift table flowers, chuppah flowers, etc… I’m sure it was a reasnoble price as far as flowers go, but I had a budget of $1,500. I am going to be DIY’ing all my flowers EXCEPT for my bridal bouquet.. I just don’t think I have the talent for that! I’m getting all my flowers from Sam’s Club (BEST pricing by far!) and all of my vases from candles4less.com. I’m using blue hydrangea, white roses and white carnations. I’ll be using silk flowers for our chuppah and doing that myself as well :-]. I’m very excited!

When my sister got married 2 years ago, her flowers were $1,700. She went with a more expensive florist and had orchids. I have twice as many in my bridal party and need more centerpieces than her. It makes me sick how expensive weddings are!!! If I was the least bit creative, I would DIY the flowers. I have 2 flower consults this week, so hopefully I can get mine for a lot cheaper.

Actually, I’m DIY-ing so it’s not too bad. My florist never gave me an estimate, but then again he couldn’t get the flowers I wanted either. My flowers aren’t bad but then you add in tape, foam, vases, snips, and filler. Gah!

I made my bouquet, 2 bm bouquets, 3 bouts, 4 centerpiece arrangements, and about 10 misc decorations using silk flowers. I spent about 100 on all of our flowers and supplies, maybe 80 or 90 even. I bought the majority of my flowers off of ebay, one seller had a sale for 160 flowers for $15 so I bought two, (using white daisies w/ black centers, and cornflowers) and I bought the cornflowers at http://www.afloral.com, they have great deals there all the time.  My original budget for flowers was $200, but I couldn’t justify spending that much (I’m pretty cheap since we’re paying for everything lol) so I had to do some digging. When I priced how much the florist was going to charge me to basically do what I wanted except using real flowers she wanted $85 for each bm bouquet, and $160 for my bouqet and $100 per centerpiece, now they may have added little extras here and there, but I wont miss them.
