Yes, we both have really small families so it’s nice to have a slightly less undersized one when they’re put together. I doubt that my family will really embrace his except for my parents – my other family members don’t really give a crap about me as far as I can tell. That’s why it’s nice to hang out with his family (especially his sister and her husband).

I really love my in-laws and now that I’m expecting our first child I am really appreciating it on a whole other new level.

Yeah. They already feel like family in a way.

@HonoraryNerd:  I am so excited to marry into my FI’s family. They are the best in-laws anyone could ask for. They are so welcoming and accepting. They are fabulous grandparents and have great relationships with their kids.

I love my in-laws!  I’ve really missed having “family” around since I moved to Australia… it’s great having my brother here but with their young family it can be hard to catch up sometimes.   FH’s family have been so welcoming and it’s been really good for me emotionally.  I swear FH’s mum gets me better than my own!  We live five minutes away so started doing regular Sunday night dinner at their place not long after I moved in (June last year) and it’s been a really fabulous way to really start feeling like I belong.  Not to mention Future Mother-In-Law seems really proud to have me as a daughter-in-law which makes me feel so special!  She SHOWERED me with presents at Christmas… I got the same amount as FH & Future Sister-In-Law which I wasn’t expecting!  My parents are super generous  throughout the year but Christmas presents really aren’t a big thing and more often than not I end up choosing my own & mum throws in a few smaller bits.  I couldn’t believe all the presents under the tree for me at the in-law’s this year 🙂 (oh, and since my parents weren’t over for Christmas, they came a few days later, it was even more wonderful to have a second family).

I am excited because I love FIs parents and they live MUCH closer. His dad and stepmom are amazing people who I absolutely love, and live 2 hours from here versus my family which lives 1200mi from here. Maybe we will butt heads in the future over things, but I know they are lovely people who care deeply about Fiance and I and our future children (already!)

I could not be more lucky

I love my inlaws. They are the most wonderful people I know and I’m honoured to be a part of their family. My immediate family is a bit wacky. I love them too, its good to have a bit of an alternative.

I get along well with my in-laws (with the exception of my FI’s quasi-stepfather, who I don’t count as family…).  I am excited for them to become my family, because they’re all great people who have been so welcoming – of course there was some adjustment since their family dynamic is so different from what I’m used to, but there really haven’t been any issues.  Plus, I’m an only child, and my Fiance has two brothers and a sister.  My Future Sister-In-Law was the first person I asked to be one of my bridesmaids.

I get along great with FI’s parents…We are already like family anyway, I’ll just be glad to be able to say “my MIL/FIL/SILs” instead of “FI’s mother/father/sisters”.  His mom has already been calling me her DIL for years! LOL

I love and respect my in laws but don’t really see the “gain” as a positive. It’s just more people to keep in consideration, more events, drama, opinions, and “taking higher roads” because there is more ideas on how to do everything. Oh and also, not to mention two more people who tell me what to do.

Yes! I can’t wait for my new mother in play, three siter in laws, and three niecbecome really be my family! I’ve had ups and downs with one of my FH’s sisters, but it still feels like a sister relationship- she’s annoyed me to death but she’s  also helped me out a lot! I’m looking forward to it! My FH’s mom can be a handful to my FH, but she’s an angel towards me, haha!

I am!  I am!!  All of my Future In-Laws (including grandparents, parents, aunt, and siblings) already treat me like part of the family.  They are awesome people, and I can hardly wait to share their name. 🙂
