I know in by the end of Nov. we had already reached the average season’s entire snowfall. I’m sure by now we’ve doubled it.
Darling Husband promised to shovel the snow last night. It’s not done and we’re going out tonight. I’ll have to make sure he gets it done with enough time to shower before we head out. Parking is going to be annoying, as there are parking bans because of the snow

Right now I am down with the snow. We’ve been having really odd weather for AK and the last few weeks we’ve been getting a lot of ice rain which has been making driving a nightmare! It’s snowing right now and it looks like we’ll probably get at least 10 inches between today and tomorrow. It’s kind of a relief.
I am sure I will be sick of it by February though haha

@AB Bride: we got our first snowfall of the season in Toronto today! I’m in that “love snow” phase, but if it’s not all melted by Monday, I’ll be annoyed.

@letigre: We’re stuck with it at this point. In the yard, it’s up to my knees, maybe higher, I’ve avoided it because it gets into my boots. The piles in the front from shovelling are to my hips or higher.
@SunflowerGarden: Snow has it’s benefits over ice, so for sure. I don’t mind if we get the few pretty flakes falling around Christmas, but we don’t need another dumping!

I am so thrilled with all the snow we have been getting. We just got 6 inches and I was like a kid this morning. We were out in it all day – playing with the kids, shoveling, cutting down our Christmas tree, sledding.
I wouldn’t mind having snow year round 🙂 There is something about it that just makes me feel alive. And it’s so beautiful. We are projected to get snow for the next week so it looks like we should have a white Christmas.

It has snowed twice here this week. I’m definitely sick of it!

I live in Portland, Oregon, and every once in a while we get snow. A few years ago, we had snow for about 2 to 3 weeks. The first week was kind of fun but after that it was a drag. I don’t know how people deal with it for months on end.

Hell yes I’m getting tired of the snow, and here in NJ I’m sure it’s not half as bad as it is in other places. Can’t wait til spring arrives.

@AB Bride: Given that it’s not even the middle of December, chances are you are going to get more snow in Edmonton!

Eastern Ontario had their first snow this year in mid-late November… this is relatively early for us by about 2 to 3 weeks … the “average” date is first week of December (altho in truth first snow can happen anytime after mid October here. Rare thank goodness)
Currently we have a few inches of snow on the ground… so not anywhere near our Annual Average that can be measured in FEET !! So I suspect we have a long way to go, and a lot more snow to be seen before Mid to Late April !!
Lol, lucky for us… Environment Canada is now issuing a Winter Storm Warning for Eastern Ontario for the rest of the Weekend (it is just now begining to snow). They expect we’ll see 15 to 25 cm (6 to 10 inches) by the time all is said & done.
What we do have in addition to early snow… is an EARLY DEEP FREEZE
It isn’t even the 15th of December and we’ve already been thru TWO Deep Freezes this Winter… one in November (relatively unheard of) and one that is going on Now (this week)
Currently it is around -20 C (-4 F) and the Wind Chill is making it “feel like” a brutal -31 C (- 29 F)
I can put up with the Snow… bring it on… it can snow every day… and if it hovering 5 degrees either side of 0 C (32 F) I am good to go.
BUT this Deep Freeze stuff… NO THANK YOU
I have a really sick feeling that this is going to be a record setting FRIGID Winter.
I seriously have to find me a way to book a Winter Getaway sooner than later !!

nope. i love snow. we haven’t gotten much so far this year, and we’re expecting a big storm tonight & tomorrow. i can’t wait. as long as it’s just snow, that’s fine. i can do without ice. the last time we had an ice storm, we had no power and no heat for like, 4 days. that was awful.

I can’t believe our city hasn’t cleared away all the snow in downtown yet. I mean… it’s been like 2 weeks since we had our big storm. What the hell have they been doing? I don’t know how those little Car2Gos are still functioning on these roads.

I love the snow! It kind of makes me giggle to see that these totals along the east coast are considered a lot to some people.. My area averages 120+ inches in a season, so this is pretty normal for here. In fact, we have less snow than normal by this time!

We had a foot of snow in mid September here in Wyoming :/ But if its cold and shitty, I like there to be snow as well, so bring it on I say! I prefer big snow years – more skiing, and it helps with the drought situation.

We just got our first real snow last night/this morning… it’s a pain to shovel & drive in, but I would much rather have snow than heat & humiditity. And snow = fun for my SO and our pup, so I can’t complain 🙂
