My “never the same since” was a blood clot over 2 years ago. Yep, it took that long to get as bad as it did.
Ok, let me put it in perspective. I wasn’t “wired” around 6:00 but it WAS the time of day that I did have the most energy.
I had to go to a MD that treats more naturopatic. She did a 24 hour saliva test and my cortisol was elevated all day and shot way up around 11:00 PM. I too thought I slept all night but she told me that there was no way I could have been. When I first started my treatment, I would wake up several times in the night. I wouldn’t toss and turn, just lay there like I was in a trance. I must not have remembered it before. Freaky.
Treatment is an herbal blend to build my adrenal glands back up. I just did another saliva test Monday and go back for the results on the 25th.
@misspandy: I had my blood work checked last week because of very similar symptoms to yours. DH thought I might have diabetes too especially because both types run in my family. I got my blood work done and it turned out ot be a vitamin D deficiency. I wouldnt be surprised if thats whats going on with you. Its especially common in the winter because of the lack of sunlight we get and the fact that the sun is not strong at all. I just started taking a Vitamin D supplement as well as trying to get some sun in every day. Its only been a few days so I havent noticed any real changes but Im sure it will get better over time. Dont worry about it – you probably dont have diabetes!
I forgot to add that I was asleep on the couch by 9:30 too.
@PitBullLover – are you taking D3 or just D? Your body absorbs D3 much faster and more completely than just plain old D.
I am always tired in January. The cold weather just makes me want to cuddle up under my covers all the time.
