This morning by BF asked if I was doing anything on Saturday. I said, no, why?  And he was kinda just dismissive about it. I don’t know if he’s just trying to be discreet so he can make plans, or if he actually just wants to be fishing with his friend.

Humph!

I’m pretty sure not, he has a bunch of cash stashed in our apartment that I’m pretty sure he’s using for the ring and it’s still here. He’s going to propose by my birthday, August, but he says he doesn’t want to wait until the last minute because it won’t be enough of a surprise. So in theory it could happen anytime but I don’t think in the next few weeks. I really have NO idea when he’ll do it.

But, for Valentine’s Day we’re hosting a party at our place! We do it every year (this is the second year) because we figure it’s more fun and less stressful than going out to an overpriced dinner. I’m making Sangria! I’m excited about that!

I wish all of you bees luck!! I was a Christmas engagement (2014). Many are against these engagements on holidays, but I find it so sweet!!!

I don’t get why people care if the engagement is on a popular day, likes NY or Val’s.  Is is because they don’t feel like such a special snowflake because there are other people in the world who got engaged?  That’s really freaking lame.

I’ve been thinking it was going to happen for a long time now. To be honest, I can’t get myself excited and let down again, so I’m trying to ignore the fact that it is V-day this Saturday, just go out to eat and probably go to bed and try not to think about all of the couples getting engaged. (Sorry this sounds really bitter.) haha

I am! It’s our 5 year anniversary and he had always said we’d be engaged by 5 years. I also know that he has the ring and has planned a whole weekend away for us but refuses to tell me where we’re going and what we’re doing. I just now found out while at work that he picked up the ring today and now I can’t stop smiling! good luck everyone!!

I thought I might be but found out it’ll be this summer…so a few more months for me. But for those who will be engaged can’t wait to see all of your stories!

LooseyGoosey:  I totally agree!  Are people who are “against” holiday proposals actually saying they would be disappointed to be asked that day?  Personally, I just want to be asked because he can’t imagine not spending our lives together!  I don’t care if he asks on a holiday, an anniversary, a birthday, or a random Tuesday as long as he puts some thought into it (just a walk or dinner out would be great!  no private fireworks or elephant rides needed!).  I just want him to ask because he wants to.  Who cares about “cliches” when it’s the emotion behind the question that matters?

4everafter:  I know right? For me, as long as the proposal is heartfelt, I don’t care when it is or where is it, if he has a ring, if he gets down on knee, if he does it in the supermarket. Couldn’t care less.
