I say go for it!  I am really short so I’ll probably wear heels (I’m 5’2″, my Fiance is 5’10”).  If we were similar heights, I would definitely wear flats!!!  No one will know 🙂

Edit: not only will no one notice, no one should care!  🙂

It’s your call. The real reason to wear heels under a long dress is for the posture that they give you.

Could you do a smaller heel, like 2 inches?

@whitandrior:  I’m with you on wanting a height difference between my Fiance and I at the altar. I don’t ever wear heels in normal life, so it would feel really weird to suddenly be the same height. I’m planning on wearing strappy sandals that I can comfortable walk and dance in all day and night, and wear again and again.

I can’t wear heels either because my Fiance is only 2in. or so taller than I. It drives him nuts if I ever wear heels that are a few inches (which is rare because that’s just not me). I am wearing some cute white beaded flip flops. We are lucky if wear flats, don’t need back up shoes, and feet should be comfy all night long… No one is going to know. And I second the no one should care either.

Nobody will know – wear what you’re comfortable in.

If your dress is long you can wear any kind of shoes you like and people are really only going to see the toe anyways. You should definately know what height shoes you are going to wear befrore you have your dress altered though incase it needs to be shortened, would hate to have you tripping down the aisle!

I will be wearing high heels but also a pair of wedge bridal flip flops to slip on for later for dancing. I’m 5’2” and wearing heels because my dress needs some height (and so do I) because the bottom has ruffles. I am a high heel kind of person, so I say go with what feels more “you” as long as it doesn’t make you tower over Fiance.

No one will be looking at your feet unless it’s a short dress. Even then, there are some pics I have seen on here of short dresses and very cute flats.

Flats are totally acceptable. I’m wearing a pair of blue Pour la Voires and if someone does notice, so what? At least I’m wearing shoes! Heels don’t always mean classier, so don’t worry about it. Do what makes ya feel good and comfy!

I’ll be wearing flats, and I don’t think anyone will notice. Even if they did, the flats are super cute and comfy. I don’t mind people knowing I opted for something other than heels.
